I have found the most perfect pair of pants for the summer; well-suited for Phoenix’s 100+ degree weather. Actually, I think you could wear these pants in any weather. They’re light and airy for the summer, keeping your legs cool and shaded from the sun. They’re breathable, you don’t have to worry about your thighs sticking to the seat of your car (it happens to the best of us). Because they’re long and also quite a bit of fabric, they could keep you warm in the fall.
I was strolling through the Uniqlo on Newbury Street when I noticed the most elegant pair of pleated pants. Though they hung so beautifully from the hanger, I was hesitant to even try on them on. I’m fairly tall, which works in favor of me wearing longer pieces like palazzo pants, but I’m also not a size 2, which made me skeptical of buying such wide-leg pants. I also don’t own anything like these, and the thought of buying something outside of my comfort zone intimidated me. Despite my doubts, I grabbed a size S and went to try them on. And I’m so glad I did.
Aside from being so cool (literally & figuratively), these pants are so easy to style. They come in neutrals like black, navy, cream, and red. They cinch at the waist and droop down low, extending your figure. You can wear them with crop tops, use them to dress up a basic tee, or wear them with a button down like I did for a fancier look.
I wore mine with a gray and white striped ruffled blouse from H&M (similar here). I also wore blue dangling earrings to compliment the various tones of blue. For the larger accessories, I went with brown tones to create some contrast. I wore simple tan sandals and my brown leather Kate Spade bag (similar here).
These pleated palazzos are also very easy on your wallet at their current price of $9.90! This was honestly one of my biggest reasons for buying them. If you’re going to try out a new trend, go with a more affordable option in case you wake up one day and the item is no longer trending.
And if these weren’t reasons enough to buy them, they’ve very comfortable and you can wear them to bed when you’ve had too many glasses of wine at dinner and don’t feel like changing in to pajamas. Like me, at the moment.
